Future Perfect Project and AEA "I'm feeling queer today" Podcast coming soon

When the short HBO film Trevor, written by Celeste Lecesne debuted in 1994, Celeste co-founded and launched The Trevor Project as the first nationwide 24-hour crisis intervention lifeline for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth. This crisis lifeline included: phone calls as well as in-person and online life-affirming resources. Since that time, Celeste and Ryan Amador have co-founded The Future Perfect Project, a program for LGBTQ+ high school students to share stories and express themselves through performances, music production, original writing and of course the Podcast, "I'm Feeling Queer Today."

This week, AEA Lakewood students had a remarkable opportunity to collaborate with The Future Perfect Project on an episode of their podcast, "I'm Feeling Queer Today." Thanks to Celeste and his team, the project empowered our students at AEA to share their personal stories through podcast creation. This experience provided a powerful platform for their voices to be heard.

While lawmakers are working overtime to pass laws and propose measures to limit the self-expression of queer youth in schools and communities, The Future Perfect Project is creating spaces for the next generation to speak their truth and broadcasting that truth to the world. Now more than ever, the world needs to hear what our youth have to say.
